Who we are

Platform Leaders is an initiative operated by Launchworks Ventures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX), which acts as the data controller for personal information collected through this website and our related forms. Our approach is simple

We collect only the information we need to run the Platform Leaders community: to organise our events, send you our newsletter and event invitations, and publish insights. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

What we collect and why

Newsletter. When you subscribe to the Platform Leaders newsletter, we use your name and email address to send you content updates and event invitations. Legal basis: your consent, given when you tick the subscription box. You can withdraw it at any time — every email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can contact us.

Launchworks & Co communications. If you separately opt in, Launchworks & Co (our parent organisation) may send you occasional updates about its services and publications. This is optional and not required to subscribe to the newsletter or attend events. You can withdraw this consent at any time in the same way.

Website analytics. We use analytics cookies to understand how our website is used (see "Cookies" below).

Providing your personal data is never a contractual requirement. We do not use your data for profiling or automated decision-making.

Who processes your data

Your data is handled only by the people and services needed to do the things described above:

• Employees and contractors of Launchworks Ventures Ltd with relevant duties (including web developers maintaining this site), who may access personal information only to perform those duties.
• Service providers (processors) acting on our instructions: HubSpot (newsletter, forms and contact management), Zoom (online events and webinars), Google (website analytics), and our website hosting and performance providers.

We will not disclose your personal information to any other third party, unless we are required to do so by law.

Some of our service providers process data outside the UK and EU (for example, in the United States). Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the UK and EU standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the UK–US Data Bridge / EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep your data

We keep newsletter subscriber data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Event registration data is kept for as long as needed to run the event and maintain our community records, after which it is retained only in line with the newsletter/marketing consents you have given. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data you provide to us, including limiting access to those who need it and using reputable service providers. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we take our responsibility to safeguard your data seriously.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law, you have the right to: access a copy of your personal data; have it corrected; have it deleted; restrict or object to its processing; withdraw consent at any time; and receive your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — ico.org.uk. If you are in the EU, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
